Becoming a Sperm Donor

How it Works

Donating your sperm will really make a difference. There is a shortage of donor sperm in a number of countries throughout the world, and the demand is increasing. Your donations can help. Imagine the feeling of knowing you have helped create a complete family. This is why we have made the process as simple and flexible as possible. Your donations will be rewarding both financially and emotionally.

Why Should I Donate with the Seattle Sperm Bank?

The Seattle Sperm Donor team provides a service that is focused on you, the donor, as an individual. We are highly experienced and specialize in this service. We will ensure you have as much time and personal attention as you need. Our Staff is always available to ensure you are confident and comfortable with our mission, our processes, and our facility.

We will provide you with a full health check-up upon your entry into our program and every six months thereafter – for as long as you continue as an active donor. We will also provide you with extensive and advanced genetic screening. Even after you retire from our program you will continue to be entitled to a free annual physical from our Medical Director.

How it works

All healthy men between the age of 18 and 40 years old can become sperm donors at Seattle Sperm Bank if they fulfill a number of physical and psychological parameters. Here are the steps to becoming a donor at Seattle Sperm Bank:

  1. Fill out and submit an online donor application on this website.
  2. To begin the process to qualify for the Seattle Sperm Bank's donor program, please visit our lab Monday through Friday, between 6:30 am to 5:00 pm, or on Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, to produce a first specimen.
  3. The specimen will be analyzed by our lab staff and you will be notified of the results within 2 to 3 business days. This initial sample will be discarded following analysis. Please note that you will not be paid for submitting this initial test sample.
  4. If your initial sperm specimen is approved you will then return to the clinic to give a blood and urine sample and also get a physical exam from one of our doctors on staff. This exam will include answering questions concerning your family medical history.
  5. Once you pass the physical exam you can begin giving sperm donations. While each donation must be approved by our doctors in order for you to be paid, our approval rate is more than 90%. Donors receive $70 for each approved donation.

We Value You

You will have an open invitation to discuss your role as a donor and will be fully supported by our medical, scientific and counseling team. It is critical to us that you feel good about what you are doing – giving the gift of life.
